Takai is a bedside table with no hard edges. Its body is a single rounded drum in ash veneer, and the grain runs in one unbroken band around the curve. A softly bevelled top and a matching base plinth frame the drum, and four tapered legs lift it clear of the floor.
Two curved drawers slide out on the long side, and their fronts follow the arc of the body. The turned wooden knobs are small and tactile. In a warm, deep walnut-toned finish, the ash grain stays visible, so the piece looks rich against pale plaster or raw concrete.
It sits close to the bed, and the drawers hold what you reach for at night. Made to order, in the finish you choose.
